LIVING: My Trick To Dealing With Snack Cravings

I'll be honest- 6 times out of 10 when I'm snacking, it's out of boredom and not hunger. Do you feel me, or do you feel me?

I think we can all relate to boredom snacking or that odd-but-familiar "I just ate but am still hungry" feeling. 

I've got a super easy trick to deal with that pesky snack voice that lives in all our heads. 

It's called water. Specifically, 1 liter.

Yep, 1 whole liter of water is what I use to stave off cravings and determine if I'm actually hungry or just bored (or thirsty.)


It seems like a lot, but it's really not that bad, and it's actually super helpful for many reasons:

1) Many times when we think we're hungry, we're really just thirsty. 

2) Water makes you feel full, so even if you are truly hungry, you'll probably feel more satiated after knocking back some agua .

3) You need water anyway. Why not give yourself a little game to up your intake?

4) It's a mental hack.

Instead of just having the thought, "I want food," and immediately giving in to it, taking time to drink some water will a) help you take your mind off those cookies and b) give you time to really think about how much you want/need them. 

If you drink your liter and you're still genuinely hungry, eat a snack! But at least make sure you've thought about it & are being intentional  about your choice to snack or not snack.
