IT'S BACK! Lifestyle Juicing: Hows + Whys

Six months later I’m reviving this blog!

True confessions: I put entirely too much pressure on myself to maintain a totally made-up idea of what I think this blog “should” be rather than just posting genuinely helpful, simple content.

SO HERE WE ARE, and I’m excited to infiltrate your inboxes again in a (hopefully) more consistent and accessible manner.

Before we get into today’s stuff— can you do me a favor?

What ladies in your life do you know who’d benefit from this blog or any of my coaching + training services?
Forward them this email
with a little virtual introduction so they can get in on the health + happiness train, too!

Alright, let’s jump in.
Today we’re talking about:

lifestyle juicing (i.e. - not for a cleanse or “diet”)

If you hang out with me on insta then you’ve seen my recent juice obsession blossom.

Basically, I love trying new stuff in the kitchen,
I wanted to incorporate more veggies in my life,
and I had a ton of juice pins on my Pinterest board so here we are.

Couple of things to note before I share some recipes + How Tos:

  1. I’m not “juicing” to lose weight or “cleanse” anything.
That’s why I’m referring to this as “lifestyle juicing” (coined by me.)

  2. There are still a decent amount of calories (mostly carbs) in juices!
Yes, consuming just the juice of a fruit/veggie does remove a lot of its caloric content,
but don’t assume just because you’re drinking a lot of juice you’re gonna drop 20 pounds.
You still need to move. ;)

  3. Juice doesn’t keep very long, so I’ve only made 1 or 2 at a time, each about 4-5 cups worth.

Alright here are the 3 recipes I’ve tried, courtesy of Diary of a Fit Mommy from Pinterest:

*I used ginger powder + lemon juice and they worked just fine!

*I used about 2 handfuls of spinach instead of kale! I also made this with an apple instead of pineapple once and it was delish!

It’s also worth mentioning that I do not own a juicer and so have been making these with just a blender + a nut milk bag!

I literally just blend everything up (add in about 1/4 cup water if you can’t get things moving in the beginning) and then pour the pulp into the bag, squeeze out the juice over a big bowl, then dump the juice into a jar!

*same instructions for almond milk! Soak almonds for 6+ hours. Blend it all up & add any sweeteners you want!

Just to recap WHY I’m into this “lifestyle juicing” thing at the moment: basically because I want more veggies, more nutrients, all the vitamins & all the health.

HAVE I NOTICED ANY IMPROVEMENTS?
Aside from a giant pimple I’m currently rocking— my skin and nails have been fabulous, digestion is 1hundred, and mostly, I just feel refreshed and quite satisfied.

They’re also quick, healthy snacks for when I have to hustle to get somewhere.

What do you think? Will you try it out or pass on this one?
